Welcome!

Here you will be able to find information about the wide range of outdoor activities offered to SMUS Senior School students. The options range from multi-day sea kayaking trips to local environmental service programs, from whitewater kayaking days to back-country ski touring adventures. The outdoor opportunities for Senior School students fall into three main categories:

  • Outdoor Days: single day outdoor, experiential or sustainability days during the school week

  • Outtrips: a set of multi-day trips for an entire grade

  • Outdoor Leadership (OL): a credit course for grade 11/12 students

  • Weekend Activities: outings and adventures on the weekends (planned with the students in the Senior School’s Outdoor Council)

The goals of the trips, whether it’s a single-day outing or a multi-day course, include the following: Learn and develop general outdoor and camping skills, Make new friends, Visit new areas of British Columbia, Spend time outdoors in nature, Develop specific activity skills (surfing, kayaking…).

 
 

 


GRADE 9/10 WINTER OUTDOOR DAYS
